Identification numbers
Description
The solution is intended to expand the BC standard with convenience functions. All facilities and bookings of the standard will not be adjusted.
In concrete terms, this means:
- Using the Item Tracking Codes on the Item
- Using the Item Tracking Lines in the Documents and in the Book Sheet
- No "abuse" of the standard fields Serial No. and Lot No. in the book sheet
Overview of requirements
- Reference data
- Master data table for identification numbers incl. FN information (e.g. GG, size and color)
- Continued use of the identification number type on the article for simplified process control and filtering.
- Document Functions
- Expansion of the scanning functions in the document headers, book sheet and inventory entry to include the scan of the identification numbers
- The entry help does not fill in new fields, but creates the item tracking lines that are used in the standard for posting
- Creation of new identification numbers
- Controlled automatic creation of new identification numbers from purchasing documents, e.g. automatic creation of identification numbers in goods receipt.
- Prices
- Prices per identification number should not be supported
- Pricing by item variant
- Markdowns, retail rating per article variant
- If prices differ, several lines must be entered
- Etikettendruck
- Printing labels with identification numbers
Facilities
Fashion furnishing
- Single identification number allowed
- Checked when setting Identification Number Type = Single Ident
-
Serial No. Save info, save batch information
- Automatically creates the default tables for series and batch info
- In principle, the tick is not necessary, as the identity card is always created for fashion.
- Only if the check marks for the info tables are set in the article tracking, the two fields should be set, as the entries will then be created automatically.
-
Setting up the default tracking codes and number series for the use of identification numbers
-
Setting for inventory: The check mark for the query must be removed, otherwise the expected tracking lines for the identification numbers will not be created.
Item tracking
- Set up the item tracking code
- Potentialities
- Order
- Batch numbers
- Both
- If the required info fields are checked, then it may make sense to set the automatic creation fields from the fashion setup, otherwise the serial and batch number card will have to be created by hand.
Article
- Identification number type
- Populates item tracking and number series with the default values from the Fashion Setup
- Item tracking code
- Recording of deviating tracking codes (e.g. single identification with batch tracking)
- The number series
- Storage of serial numbers for serial and batch numbers
Reference data
Ordering and Goods Receipt
- Manual entry of identification numbers
- About Line > Item Tracking Lines
- Manual entry of the identification numbers or automatic creation function of the BC standard from the number series stored on the article
- When you close the Item Tracking screen, the default creates reservation entries.
- FN: Attached to the creation of the reservation items, identification cards that have not yet been created are created via an event.
- Note: if the lines are later deleted and recreated with new identification numbers, the identification cards that have already been created will be retained.
- Automatic Capture
- The "Create Identification Numbers" function automatically creates missing identification numbers for all rows on the basis of the article master data and quantities.
- The function can be started multiple times when quantities change or order lines are added.
- The function creates reservation items and then automatically creates the ID cards via the INSERT event
- Entry at goods receipt
- The identification numbers can also only be recorded at the receipt of goods
- In contrast to the purchase order, the automatic function uses the delivery quantities of the goods received.
Scanning functions
- The codeunit for the scan Mgmt. has been adapted so that both EAN and ID numbers can be scanned
- There is a function to identify the barcode and the corresponding item variant, which returns the source table (EAN, Ident Card)
- The function for finding and creating a row has been adapted to the article variant.
- The function for inventory entry has been completely changed, no more negative rows are created, but the quantities are increased or decreased in the event of cancellation.
- If an identification number is scanned, the necessary reservation item is also created
- In the event of cancellation, this is reduced or deleted
Inventory
Inventory book sheet:
The function for building the book sheet has been reduced to the standard for the identification numbers. This means that the fields for serial and batch numbers are not filled (for other purposes), but the expected quantity of the article variant for the storage location is displayed in one line.
The corresponding identification numbers must then be assigned to the incoming and outgoing quantities via the tracking lines.
Attention:
The BC standard does not offer any support in the book sheet to automatically derive the missing identification numbers for the posting from expected identification numbers and those found.
The procedure in the standard for the book sheet is:
- Creating the Inventory Book Sheet
- Printout of the inventory list incl. identification numbers
- Carrying out the inventory in the printed report
- Capture of unfound identifiers via the tracking lines
A more convenient way to process identification numbers in the inventory is the inventory order.
Attention: If you are using ID numbers, the check mark for using the query must be deactivated in the FN setup, otherwise no expected tracking lines will be created.
The Calculate Rows function creates rows per storage location and item variants.
For identification numbers, Expected Tracking Lines are also created.
These are also available on the posted physical inventory order, which ensures that the inventory can be traced for each identification number. (since the physical inventory item itself does not contain any information about the identification numbers)
In the inventory entry, serial and lot numbers are entered per line by default. This means that there are no tracking lines at this point
In addition, the scan field is also available for identification numbers.
When the inventory order is completed, BC automatically calculates the variance from the expected and counted identification numbers and writes the appropriate reservation items.
The line function can be used to open the inventory tracking overview for different series and batch numbers for the completed inventory order.
Etikettendruck
In all functions in label printing, an adjustment has been made for the identification numbers so that the data can be pulled from the appropriate source (reservation line, item item).
